SIGNAGE

  • Your signage needs to be on theme, it will fall flat if you have random designs that do not follow the experience or theme.
  • Signage needs to be thought out, not a second thought, or else it will look like a sloppy mess. Instead of elevating the experience that could damage it.
  • Details Matter! Always.
  • If you do not have time for signage then leave it out.
  • Alternatives to individual signs is a one large sign with the items listed.
  • Great signage also give you an advantage to create a photogenic station, table, or whatever you are creating.

If you have signage that blends with the theme, stands out, and is well thought out then it will instantly elevate your station.

HEIGHT

  • Height is important to any station to give it depth, without height, your station is flat.
  • Large, medium, and small or tall and short -- it doesn't matter which you choose. For example, a tall and medium sized lantern, or a large or medium sized crate. These create height and depth.
  • Height doesn't have be exact. It is not an exact formula and can change depending on the experience or how large your display is.
  • In the photo to left you will see a great example of height used with lanterns, and crates.
  • Leverage the signage make a statement, great for photographs.

In my personal opinion, there are no rules when it comes to height. Having items scattered throughout the table gives it depth. My stations never follow an exact science and I like that.

GREENERY

  • Layering is the key
  • Depending on your budget you can easily fill dead space with greens, if you have a larger budget then you can start with a greenery bottom layer then top with flowers
  • Don't forget to ensure you stay on theme and in season. There is nothing worse than seeing a winter station, table, or display with tulips or sunflowers. Unless, it is a Spring theme you happen to be doing in winter (for example)
  • Greenery shouldn't just be thrown on the table....it should be layered with intent, figure out a plan in advance, and then placed strategically.

Greenery is my absolute favorite detail. Sometimes less is more and other times...more is better!

You really need to utilize the greenery to your advantage, understand what is being placed on your station, display, or table (whatever it is) so that you can thoughtfully, carefully, utilize this piece to elevate your experience.
